Q&A

What I believe makes a good Tutor:

Positive attitude, approachable, and able to teach a subject in many different ways to suit different learners.

What are your top study tips for Students?

The easiest way to improve English skills is to read… just a little, every day. For high school students, turn off your phone while you are doing your homework. You’ll concentrate better and get it done faster.

What are your top study tips for Parents?

Help make learning fun for your children: Make up sentences from the first letters of number plates while you are driving; let them help pay for the groceries and count the change; Randomly quiz them on times tables and telling time. Whatever suits their age and stage.

What book would you recommend to your Students?

ANYTHING that grabs their interest. My favourites as a kid (and parent) were The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton; Danny Champion of the World by Roald Dahl; The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgeson Burnett; Harry Potter series by JK Rowling.
